It’s interesting to me, this crazy world of blogging. We are a community. The definition of community? ”A group sharing common characteristics or interests and perceived or perceiving itself as distinct in some respect from the larger society within which it exists.” While my specific genre is that of Single Parenthood, we all know I blog about other things as well. The Weird Things, the dating, the daughter, etc. Yet my single parent friends are still here, rooting me on, giving me support in times of need, laughing with me and so on. And then I have the non-single parent friends that are here as well. This blog has brought me not only into a new community, but brought me friends I know I’ll have for this lifetime. I’m thankful.
I love that my family does not know about my blog. Not mom, dad or any of my relatives.
I love that only my super close friends know about my blog. ShaNaNa, Jenn, Wingman and LetEmBreathe. Yup, always and forever friends.
I love that Dick and a few of his friends read this blog. (Had I mentioned that one before?) I love that once he actually commented under someone else’s name. Hello Bernie Wood!
I love that I have an outlet to vent, laugh, write, cry, whine, moan, complain, and any other thing I need to do that day.
I love that my blog is well over a year old now, and I still love every aspect of it.
I love that I get offers to advertise, and I love turning them down. I love that I’d rather leave that for those who write as a profession.
I love that my readers and friends seem to love my kid as much as I do.
I love that my online friend for years, Cindy Booga, designs my headers just for me. Oh and of course, the awesome Weird Thing of the Week picture!
I love the things I’ve learned about myself through this blog.
I love the friends I’ve made IRL from this blog. Hello Tonya (T), Jane Wonder, and RE. I heart each of you.
I love that our blogging community keep each other’s privacy, well, private.
I love the searches that bring people to this blog:
- Spooning
- ShaNayNay (hahahaha)
- Corey Haim (think he Google’s himself? Maybe he’ll come HERE!)
- Jerk Nails
- Women wanting men to spank them stories (WTF?)
- Drunk Texting
- Things that annoy me
- Canyon (remember that post?)
I love that ShaNaNa thought this emoticon, <3 , was not a heart, but balls and a penis.
I love so much more, but … time is short, and the night is late.
So tell me friends, what do you love about YOUR blogs? And if you’re not a blogger but a follower, what do you love about the blogs you read?

Blogging is reality tv, only in text. It has all the ingredients: comedy, tragedy, moving, crazy and sometimes even a moment of realization or shared learning.
Being a follower, it’s my smoke break.

Yep. Yep. And yep.
Blogging is better than reality TV. We can laugh (or cry) 24/7, as long as the connection is up. And it’s all about connection…

Ditto to it all.
Love that shanana thinks <3 is penis and balls. It took me forever to figure it out too, although I am sad to say my mind didn't go there.

I don’t have a blog, but I have been a follower of many blogs for the past year or so. For me, the blogs I follow provide me with hope, inspiration, laughs and tears. I stumbled upon many of the blogs at a time in my life when I needed to know that I was not alone. I stumbled upon Depot Dad and Quest for T’s blogs and from there I was in contact with many people that I could identify with in some way. So, for me, blogs have been my “connection” to people, and I thank every one of them for at some point, touching my heart and helping me get through this thing called life.

Linda –
You win for best comment of the day. Here are balls and a penis (or a heart) for you.
<3
Fondly,
QT

Aw! So glad I could be a bloggy phone book of sorts for Linda!
I completely agree with you QT. I adore the community of friends I’ve made from blogging. I have felt such lows sometimes and been lifted with the comments from readers and bloggy friends.
I also love going back and seeing documented lessons that I learn from myself. Sometimes I don’t even remember writing those things!
Love it. Love blogging. Love YOU!!!
November 5, 2009 at 6:30 pm
I love YOU
thanks for the shout out. One of these days we will meet and I won’t just be an online friend
Hey, I should make you an iPhone app next…teeheee.
November 5, 2009 at 6:46 pm
Ah, thanks!!

Your blog is awesome! I love reading it. And leaving snarky comments that occasionally get me a slap on the wrist (or get deleted. haha)
Have you ever naked texted while spooning with someone else? That would be a weird thing of the week, eh?

Someone on Twitter thought <3 was boobs once. I had to explain it immediately to salvage poor LC's reputation!
I love the friends and connections I've made through my blog. There are people, you included, who I am glad to call friends but never would have met otherwise. And there are others who I may only ever talk to online but who make my days brighter and my life better.
That and I love knowing I'm never really alone. Not if I don't want to be.

Hmmm…… I don’t watch TV. This IS my TV. I only follow four sites, and they are all single parent blogs. Yours is my favorite and the only one that I actually frequent. You keep me in stitches. And mostly that is because we are a lot alike. So, I’m going with familiarity for $500, Alex. LOL
Take care, sweetie.

This is new to me as I’ve only been divorced a year, but I have to say I love not feeling alone in all this. ALL of my friends here in NYC are either married and have moved to the burbs or perennially single. They’re supportive but not much help. I’m starting to feel less alone on all this and feel like I have a place to go on days when things get tough.

I love when I come up with a good idea and it turns into a post that I’m proud of. It’s a great feeling to be able to write…and I thoroughly enjoy the way you do it, QT.

ShrimpieDad – Welcome to the bloggie world, I’ve seen you around some other blogs too. Yup, you’re so not alone. Welcome to our world!
Angel, you’re a sweetie. <3 for you too.
November 6, 2009 at 4:34 pm
I love your blog too QT!
And I love my own blog for many of the same reasons – although in hindsight I do wish I had started out anonymous. Meh.
November 9, 2009 at 6:59 pm
I dig your blog too. And just for the record this is my new penis <=======3
November 11, 2009 at 1:52 am
hehehe.
You love me.
SO BIG! SO BIG!
November 19, 2009 at 1:11 am
All of your ee friends are stomping their feet pissed off because we didn’t get a shout. We’ve been jilted.
November 19, 2009 at 1:51 pm
Janie, you’re correct.
Forgive me … *Bowing head in shame*
