The Third Date

Oh my.  Unexpectedly I had a third date last night with the Pumpkin. 

Ex-Girlfriend and I did not meet up for drinks, as CrapMan showed up at her house to try and “work things out”.  And while I’m not sure what happened there, I can say at one point she called me when he was there, and he certainly was yelling his head off in the background.  Her and I both kind of laughed, and I excused myself from the situation.  I am not a drama girl, and that one, was just too much drama for me.  Besides, this left me with a free night!

And with that free night in mind, I planned on having a quiet evening at home as Em was at her dad’s house, yet again.  With her having the chicken pox, day care is out of the question.  Her dad is not working this week, so she has been at his house since Monday night.  Her dad wrote me today and said “We have a good kid.”  And I had to grin.  Cuz he is right.  We sure as hell do.

I digress.  So with the free night in mind, I was going to stick around at home, have a relaxing evening. And a phone call from Pumpkin changed my mind on that one.  He invited me over for a movie.  I wasn’t expecting this, truth be told.  That would mean THREE nights in a row that I’d be seeing him.  He is out of town this weekend, and I have plans all weekend myself, and truth be told, I like Pumpkin.  Probably a bit more than I’m admitting to anyone at this point.  Cautiously Optimistic is what I am, to quote a friend.  I’m good with that.  So I went to his house, and we watched a movie.  He made me laugh, smile and laugh some more.  And then we went to sleep, where I fit most perfectly, into his nook. 

LIfe is interesting sometimes, isn’t it?  Like a game of poker: If you don’t put any in the pot, there won’t be any to take out.
